In fall of 2003 and in January of 2004, two Sutton property owners initiated discussions with the Commission, regarding placement of conservation easements on their land, and have enlisted the Commission’s technical and financial assistance in doing so. Discussions are on-going.
All meetings are open to the public, and residents are welcome to attend. The Commission is very interested in your ideas for land protection.
While the Sutton Conservation Commission’s primary concern is for the protection of fragile, vital spaces in Town, the unprecedented growth in our region has created a new imperative: to work hand in hand with Conservation Commissions from surrounding towns, and various State agencies, to assure protection of great watersheds, large tracts of currently unbroken open space, and wildlife corridors which traverse town boundaries.
