August 16, 2004 meeting summary
9-10am Town Hall
In Attendance
Laura Scott, Elly Phillips, Janet Haines, Jen Call, Chief Tighe, Walter Simonds
Discussions were had about the Police Department and the need for a new facility because
of safety concerns and working conditions.
Information was given about the Fire Department need for a building maintenance fund
and how payment for forest fire calls are handled.
There was discussion about the need for a building maintenance trust fund for the
Library.
There was a lengthy discussion about the operations of the transfer station – types of
material accepted, cost and profit to the town, staffing, facility needs, and the need to
establish an environmental study/permitting fund.
There were discussions about relocating the Town Offices out of the Town Hall and using
the Town Hall as meeting space and committee/board offices.
Next meetings for this Chapter are August 30th at 9am and September 13th at 3pm, both
meetings will be held at the Town Hall.
