TOWN OF SUTTON
BOARD OF SELECTMEN
March 3, 2008 @ 4:30 p.m.
Pillsbury Memorial Hall, 93 Main Street, Sutton Mills
The meeting was called to order by William Curless, Chair. Present at the meeting was William Curless, Chair; Philip Buteau, Selectman; Jeff Evans and Elly Phillips, Recording Secretary.
The minutes from February 25, 2008 and February 28, 2008 were approved as written. The Board reviewed and approved the following manifests:
PAYROLL MANIFEST: $ 17,090.29
VENDOR MANIFEST: $217,275.59
APPOINTMENTS:
Jeff Evans met with the Board to advise them that he felt there was some marketable timber on the former ash landfill/proposed future highway facility site. The Board asked him, if possible, to look into the matter prior to town meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. The Board issued a letter to Alan Hascom, District Engineer expressing concerns regarding the deplorable condition of NH Route 114 with a request that highway upgrades be performed.
2. The Board received a recommendation that a stop sign be placed at the bottom of Baker Hill Road/Top of Chalk Road in a northerly direction. Action on the matter was deferred until a full Board could be present.
3. The Board issued a yield tax with doomage assessed for Michael David Warren in the amount of $3,011.00
4. The Board reviewed a draft Hazard Mitigation Report endorsement letter
5. Selectmen Curless requested that the AA explore the possibility of renting a shuttle bus for Town Meeting due to restricted parking from encroaching snow banks.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. The Board received payment from the Stewart Family to repurchase property taken by tax deed.
REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE:
1. The Board noted correspondence regarding the proposed highway facility from Vickie Mandell and Philip Murphy.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
